AGREEING WITH JOHN

As the church, it's like we've been taught to compartmentalize our lives. God is over here, work is there, play is there...all things are under the umbrella of "What I have to do to live in this society." And we just take this all for granted, don't we? But we are called, as Believers, to live with "GOD/ IN AGREEMENT WITH HIM" as the umbrella, and everything else settling in underneath it. We're so foolish in our separating "spirituality" from "my job." As if life isn't a cohesive, unified, total, constant reflection of WHO WE ARE. We are Believers and we are called to walk that out as A LIFESTYLE. It's funny, but thinking about traditional Jews, (and Muslims,) the images that come to my mind are of a people who have embraced a lifestyle. If you're Jewish, everything is dictated by what that means...your sleeping and eating and praying and working and playing...you do everything in a Jewish way! Why don't we do everything in a Christian way? Not A RELIGIOUS WAY! Because that's so easy to do! But, rather, in a way that reflects our identity in Him, our hearts being slain by Him, our knowledge of His glory and His wrath and that we spend our days in agreement with what He says about us? (Well, for me, it would be because I'm not in agreement with Him...I think I agree far more with what Satan has to say about me...random tangent!)
Christianity is a lifestyle. Oh, what the western church would look like if we weren't afraid to give up our worldly security, our excuses of "It's just not possible!" and be, firstly, Believers. Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and then letting everything else just fall into place behind it.
